The works within this page are small projects I've completed throughout my undergrad career and want to eventually expand upon. They are limited in their design process and mainly interesting concepts I enjoyed.
FALLEN MUSICAL
This was 1 of 4 pieces created for a simple assignment where I was constricted with designing something that had to do with dreams, have a musical element and use textures.
This poster is based on a fictional theatrical production with the rough concept being a horror musical where people are experiencing near-death nightmares but will actually die if they do not wake up. The 'directors' are dream/nightmare based folk tales, La Pisadeira being from Brazil and Baku from Japan.
I want to expand on this poster concept by creating a series of them based on various common nightmares (ex: falling to death, teeth falling out, drowning, bug infestation, etc).
LLAMA - STUDENT ORG
LLAMA or LGTBQ+ Latin American Association is an organization I founded on campus to provide a safe, welcoming space to queer latine students at Northeastern University.
Our logo's design nods to the intersecting identities by centering the llama, an animal primarily found in South America and integrating the classic pride flag through the dots lined up under the name.
Lalo, the organization’s mascot was created to help build our brand and has evolved subtly each year. His design includes the logo's dots and represent pom poms which llamas are often adorned with.
BASEL GREEN ROOFS
As part of a summer abroad program I got to study at the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW. The program lasted a month and during that time we were tasked with designing a poster highlighting a contrast in the City of Basel. I went with the contrast between urban architecture and the plant life that grew despite it.
The concept shifted to be more about Basel’s environmental policy that required any new building to have an area to grow plants on its roofs. This encourages greenery in the urban areas of the city and jointly helps with saving energy by reducing temperature extremes.
The poster depicts a roof of one of these buildings filled to the brim with greenery with the tag line “Greener Cities, Brighter Futures” pointing towards the fight with climate change.
Part of the assignment was continuous iterations and experimentation, the posters below showing key points in the development of the design.
